Jamaica Gleaner Letters
published: Tuesday | April 8, 2003

North Coast highway hazards
THE EDITOR, Sir: I TRAVEL by car to Montego Bay about three times per week. Some times my travel is during the day and sometimes in the dark of night.

Prescriptive rights at Lime Cay
THE EDITOR, Sir: I WOULD like to add my voice to those concerned individuals and organisations re the proposed development at Lime Cay.

Wishing to make a difference
THE EDITOR, Sir: WITH SO much negatives in the world, and even closer to home Jamaica, it should leave us with a feeling of hope and well being when one hears of something good happening or someone doing something good...

Keep up the good work
THE EDITOR, Sir: I HAVE been listening to quite a few conversations involving Rolun 'Jerry' Small on the 'Hot Talk' programme and I have come to the conclusion that he is one of the most balanced...

Good job, Mel
THE EDITOR, Sir: I ASK of you to publish my commendation and applause in your paper for Mr. Melville Cooke. I have read a few letters from people bashing him for his insight on the war.

Control, not democracy
THE EDITOR, Sir: THIS WAR instituted and injected by the United States could have been handled with diplomacy, despite Saddam Hussein's hard line defence. Was this war ethical? ...

The passing of a giant
THE EDITOR, Sir: A GIANT has passed: I was saddened to learn of the passing of the Rev. Dr. Cleve Grant. Truly Rev Grant's influence was very strong and positive.

'Jamaica's Pastor'
THE EDITOR, Sir: THE MERL Grove Past Students' Association (Canada) wishes to express our condolence to Mrs. Gloria Grant and the rest of the family at the passing of her husband, The Rev. Cleve Grant.

Remembering Pauline Gray
THE EDITOR, Sir: IN A stellar career Pauline Gray gave selflessly to her community and her country, and raised the bar for all of us to do the same.

'Shocked and awed'
THE EDITOR, Sir: I AM 'shocked and awed' by the current genocide taking place in Iraq.

Weeping for Iraq
THE EDITOR, Sir: I'M VERY disheartened with the war against Iraq. The coverage of the American media is even far more distasteful as I have never seen such high level of bias, correction...

Strive for peace
THE EDITOR, Sir: I READ with interest the letter about 'Ungrateful Jamaicans' in the April 5th edition of your paper and felt compelled to give my opinion.

Lack of diplomacy!
THE EDITOR, Sir: OTTO REICH should be reprimanded for his own lack of diplomacy! His apparent lack of respect for CARICOM opinion is shown in his suggestion that the CARICOM 'bite its lip' instead of speak its mind concerning the war in Iraq.
