THE EDITOR, Sir:
I'M VERY disheartened with the war against Iraq. The coverage of the American media is even far more distasteful as I have never seen such high level of bias, correction, I have seen it as it is always the case with the American media. It is quite ironic to introduce the news coverage as 'fast', 'fair' and 'furious', when 'fair' has never been attempted.
I myself have stop watching the FOX news coverage, as it is laced with such levels of hypocrisy and more truthfully 'unfair'. I would like to ask the FOX news anchor two questions, especially those hosting FOX and 'friends'. Do 'friends' always agree with each other?
If anyone of them were pulled from the 'safe' seat of their office to be trained for one year to be a part of the U.S. army in Iraq would they have gone?
It would be interesting to hear you publicly declare your answer to the second question on TV.
Finally, I heard an American reporter say recently "Good news. 1000 Iraq soldiers were killed" It is not only news but it is good news. The death of persons who are fighting for a regime not necessarily that they are under Saddam's spell but could be simply in defence of their country because they do not trust the Americans, is praised as good news. Where do we place the Iraqi people who are not for Saddam but against the Americans?
At the end of all this that there will be weeping wives and children. How can America feel comfortable with leaving a country not only devastated structurally but also starting a generation of many many orphans and widows?
I am etc.,
