Remembering Pauline Gray

THE EDITOR, Sir:
IN A stellar career Pauline Gray gave selflessly to her community and her country, and raised the bar for all of us to do the same.
She managed to seamlessly blend being a professional with being a mother, a sister, and a friend. In her career, she cared passionately about doing the right thing, evening the playing field, and optimising every individual's potential. As a mother, she was prouder and happier in her child's accomplishments and independent spirit than any I've ever known. And she was a wonderful, extraordinary friend to many - myself fortunate to be counted among them. She was generous, loyal and whipcord smart, and always, always appreciated a good laugh. She lent a life spark to every chance encounter!
It was truly an honour to have known her, a fact to celebrate even in mourning.
