Jamaica Gleaner Letters
published: Friday | August 27, 2004

Some parents are much too young
THE EDITOR, Sir: ON THE front page of Sunday Gleaner, dated August 22, the headline hit me, 'Low grades sink lower: Regional Grades sink lower'.

Legalise abortion
THE EDITOR, Sir: DR. HALL'S call for the legalisation of abortion is something that deserves consideration, for several reasons. First, abortions are being performed, whether or not we like it.

The police situation
THE EDITOR, Sir: CONCERNING FRANCIS Forbes' comment that he has done his best, and feel that his job performance is fair, speaks to the heart of the problem.

Remove the zinc fences
THE EDITOR, Sir: IN SUPPORT of the security forces and on behalf of the residents of the inner-city, I humbly suggest that the government present a bill in Parliament to remove all zinc fences in inner-city communities.

Questions for the toll authorities
THE EDITOR, Sir: THE PORTMORE leg of the highway is well on its way and even though it's obvious for all to see, there exists far more questions than answers about the project.

Enfield Juno Pen road in need of repair
THE EDITOR, Sir: IT IS with deep distress that I use your medium to bring to the attention of the National Works Agency (NWA) the deplorable condition of the middle of the Enfield Juno Pen main road.

A letter to Beenie Man
THE EDITOR, Sir: THIS AN open letter to Beenie Man.

TVJ, please do better
THE EDITOR, Sir: IT IS with deep disgust that I watched tonight's newscast (August 25, 2004) on Television Jamaica. An item was reported about an elderly gentleman who was killed by vicious criminals.

Show more appreciation please
THE EDITOR, Sir: I TOTALLY agree with the writer Lillian Robinson in her letter to you posted on Wednesday, August 25, 2004. We need to appreciate our countrymen and women more.
