Kudos, Brigitte Foster-Hylton

BRIGITTE FOSTER-Hylton's gold-medal win in the 100m hurdles is, by far, the most emotional and tear-jerking experience for me and many Jamaicans alike. After not being featured as a medallist in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, it appeared to us that Brigitte was very discouraged and was ready to hang up her spikes and end her career in athletics.
To be honest, I was not expecting her to win gold but I was really hoping that she would medal. Brigitte, like Asafa, taped the mouths of the naysayers and performed over and above the bar that was set for them in these championships.
Kudos to Brigitte Foster-Hylton. If she still wants to retire she can now do so in very fine style. What a race!
