Usain Bolt's supremacy
Published: Friday | August 21, 2009
THE RECENT exploit by 'SuperJam' Usain 'Lightning' Bolt is a real indicator that our young nation is now coming of age.
'Insane', 'Mr Unstoppable', 'the boy wonder' and 'superman' are among the many names that are now associated with the lanky 196 cm native of Trelawny. He's the world's greatest. The Lightning Bolt is not afraid to show the world that 'wi likkle but we tallawah'.
Lightning Bolt or 'SuperJam' is rewriting the history books. He is retraining our minds to think 'when and where' instead of 'never' or 'it's impossible'. His feat to date (except for Jesse Owens) is phenomenal in the sport of track and field, and he did it without barely breaking a sweat.
Accomplishments
What is next for Bolt? Well, we will see in the days to come if we tune in to the media. I can naturally now foresee only gold lining his path, like the gold from our national flag of black, green and gold. 'SuperJam' has demonstrated the true spirit of a Jamaican who is proud of his accomplishments, while portraying his rich country's customs of the love of music, dance and culture.
Let us take our hats off to a true patriot of a nation that is dominated by descendants who was taken to the new world as slaves; but we are now reclaiming our rightful place as kings. We are no more restricted to a continent or an island.
To witness a small country like Jamaica producing a world beater like Usain Bolt is a blessing in the sky. However, let us not even for a second forget to thank the Almighty our Creator for the enormous blessings that he continues, to shower down on us.
