Jamaica's Under-20 Reggae Girlz will continue preparations for the upcoming Caribbean Football Union (CFU) stage of their World Cup qualifiers with three friendly internationals against their Trinidad and Tobago counterparts.
Coach of the female squad, Vin Blaine, said the girls are preparing physically and mentally and are expecting three competitive encounters.
The girls from the twin-island republic are scheduled to arrive in the island on Tuesday, August 4.
"We welcome these games as they will provide us the opportunity to measure our progress," Blaine said.
The girls who have been in camp for the past two weeks are expected to face the Trinidad and Tobago squad on August 5, 7 and 9.
"The girls have responded well but only a match situation can truly measure progress," Blaine said.
The first two games are tentatively set for the University of the West Indies Bowl and the Spanish Town Prison Oval. The game scheduled for Sunday, August 9, is set for Drax Hall in St Ann.
"We have a really talented group of girls and we would really want the country to see them so we will try to spread these games around," Blaine said.
A double-header is also in the pipeline and will include a number of former national players against an Irie FM Invitational team. Blaine said details of that are yet to be finalised.
The young Girlz will begin their qualifiers on August 23 against the Turks and Caicos before completing the first round against the host nation Dominica on Thursday, August 27.
The winners will progress to a group of four from which the top three will advance to the CONCACAF round.
