Super League champions Jamalco will meet sister team Windalco in today's final of the Jamaica Netball Association (JNA)/Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) Open League competition at the Leila Robinson Courts, starting at 5 p.m.

Meanwhile, in the curtain-raiser, defending champions Tivoli Gardens 'B' and Hampshire 'A' will contest the consolation knockout final, starting 3 p.m.

In Tuesday's semi-finals, Tivoli Gardens defeated Molynes United 'A' 29-19, and Hampshire 'A' whipped Alpha 26-17 in the other semi-final.

The game is expected to be an exciting contest as both teams are evenly matched in all departments.

Goal hunt

Goal shooter Nickeisha Cohen and goal attack Patricia Chambers will lead Tivoli Gardens' goal hunt, while Shantal Slater and Odette Harris should do the bulk of the scoring for Molynes United.

In Thursday's semi-finals, Jamalco defeated rally champions Waulgrovians 'A' 32-28, while Windalco stopped defending champions Tivoli Gardens 31-27.

Despite the close friendship between both teams, Wayne Shaw, manager of Jamalco, said they won't be taking their opponents lightly.

"If they play like how they played against Tivoli (Gardens) in the semi-final, I think that it's going to be a very tough game for us," said Shaw.

"It is going to be a very exciting game. However, we are very confident that we are going to beat them because we are much fitter and I think that we are also a lot more experienced than them," he said.

Determined to win

National representatives Romelda Aiken, Nicole Aiken and Nadine Bryan are expected to lead Jamalco's charge, along with former national players Samantha Mundle and Kerry-Gaye Brown.

Stacey-Ann Brown, the captain of Windalco, said her team is going to win.

"We know that we are going to beat them because I think that we are very determined and the drive is in us to do it tomorrow (today)," said Brown.

"It is going to be a competitive game and Jamalco is a very tough team to beat because they have a number of national players on their team, but I think that we have the will in us to do it and we are going to do it," she said.

National representative Tracey-Ann Robinson, along Under-21 players Ann-Kay Griffiths and Stacey-Ann Griffiths, are also included in Windalco's attack.
