Jamaica College's Manning Cup football coach, Alfred Henry, has been suspended in his capacity as coach from all Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) competitions in Jamaica for one year.

The suspension runs from November 30, 2009 to November 29, 2010.

The decision was reached yesterday at a disciplinary meeting to charge Henry with misconduct towards the referees and administrators, following the Manning Cup game between JC and Wolmer's on November 14 at Winchester Park.

Henry stated at the end of the game that the administrators cannot administrate and the referees cannot referee. He also described the organisers and referees as incompetent and further labeled the referees as "idiots" and "nincompoops".

Further action

Henry's troubles might still not be over, as the findings will be sent to the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), who can decide if any further action is necessary.

"We are going to send it to the JFF. If the JFF wants to endorse it they can but we will do it for all ISSA competitions," said George Forbes, ISSA competitions' director, yesterday.

Forbes added: "He tendered a letter of apology because he thought that he was wrong, he thought that he allowed the occasion to get to him.

"We can't make because of one man the referees decide that we are not doing anything to protect their integrity and they decided not to ref the games. We're not saying referees are always going to be right but we have to give them the benefit of the doubt," he added.
