Both the Pick-9 and Super-6 failed to survive Wednesday's race meet and start anew with $1 million and $750,000 guaranteed minimums tomorrow.

The Pick-9 will be conducted from race two to 10; the Super-6 from five to 10. We look at the Super-6 which gets under way with a mile and quarter race to be contested by seven starters, including SINGINGINTHERAIN, who gets a glorious opportunity to resume winning ways.

Trained by Dwight Chen, the four-year-old gelding caught the eye on September 5 when staying on strongly to finish two lengths third to LADY WALES over 1200 metres, a trip short of his best.

Having worked well since and the trip ideal, SINGINGINTHERAIN with only 49.0kg for the promising apprentice Doushane Gordon, should win from LOVINGGOOD and THE DIVINE KING.

Keen competition

The sixth race (claiming $450,000-$400,000) over 1200 metres, promises keen competition among the recent winners LADY WALES and FOREVER MINE, as well as CIRCLE DROME, RIGGED TO WIN, ROYAL MAJESTY and THUNDERSTORM.

The Lawrence Freemantle-trained LADY WALES ran on strongly to beat a good field over the distance on September 5, and with winning jockey Dal Brown retaining the ride, the hint should be taken. THUNDERSTORM, who won in a dead-heat with HONEY BUNNY over the distance on June 20, looks nicely off at the weights with only 51.0kg and will not be out of it. And the grey CIRCLE DROME, FOREVER MINE and the late-kicking RIGGED TO WIN should be thereabouts at the finish when this is being decided.

In a tough-looking race in which multiple choices should be used, Welsh Soutar's RIGGED TO WIN is tipped to catch rivals in deep stretch from her convenient mark of 52 kg and in-form Carlton Malcolm aboard.

Briefly, the well-forward debutante DOUBLE CENTURY from the Gary Subratie stables should win the seventh over the round five course for the Stewards' Cup, in which eight two-year-olds have been declared.

FUGITIVE, an unlucky loser to KOKOPELLI CAT last Saturday when the apprentice rider lost his whip in mid-stretch, should rebound at the expense of RIP CURRENT in the eighth over 1400 metres, while it should be the recent winner NEW KINGSTON (to repeat) and HARDWAR PRINCE (knocking at the door) in the last two races.
