HOVE, England (CMC):

Corey Collymore has signed a one-year extension to his playing contract which will keep him at English County Championship side Sussex until the end of the next season.

The club made the announcement about the Barbados and West Indies fast bowler on its website on Monday.

"It's great to be returning to Sussex for the 2010 season," said Collymore. "I enjoy playing my cricket at Hove and this year has been a remarkable year for the club. I look forward to helping this club make a big impact on world cricket."

Collymore, who played 30 Tests and 84 One-day Internationals for West Indies, did not feature in Sussex's triumphant Twenty20 Cup campaign, which secured a place in the Champions League in India next month.

Instead, Collymore has been an integral member of the squad in the longer form of the game.
