We need leaders of example

The Editor, Sir:
When will Jamaicans wake up to the fact that they need to conserve? I believe we know things are extremely bad but we are waiting for our leaders to set the example.
Who will be the first leader to cut his salary significantly? Who will be the first leader to drive a more fuel-efficient car? Who will be the first leader to cancel a debt owed to him/her? I dare say none because, despite their advice to others to conserve, they do not believe others will follow their example. Leaders, if you do not believe, your subjects will follow your example and our grave will get deeper and deeper.
