SARATOGA SPRINGS, New York (CMC):

Jamaican jockeys Rajiv Maragh and Shaun Bridgmohan shared two wins on Saratoga's nine-race card on Thursday. Bridgmohan, who recently returned to the saddle after back injury, won the US$50,000 fourth race and Maragh landed the fifth, worth US$24,000.

Maragh is currently fourth in the jockeys' standings with 20 wins, trailing Ramon Dominguez (31), Alan Garcia (29) and Julien Leparoux, who won three races Thursday to move into third with 21 wins.

Bridgmohan used the eight-to-one bet JZ's Revenge to score a surprise win in race four, a five-furlong sprint for two-year-old fillies.

From the barn of North America's No.1 trainer Steve Asmussen, JZ's Revenge stalked the front-running nine-one bet Anne Margaret down the backstretch.

JZ's Revenge collared Anne Margaret inside the final furlong and went on to win by 1-1/4 lengths over the 7-2 second favourite Sure as Gold, with Anne Margaret weakening to finish a further half-length back in third.

The 6-5 favourite Cableknit was prominent early but faded in the homestretch.

JZ's Revenge clocked 59.07 seconds in victory under Bridgmohan, who was scoring his third win since returning to race-riding on August 3.

The 30-year-old Bridgmohan had been sidelined for just under a month after suffering a minor vertebrae fracture in a fall during exercise gallops at Churchill Downs on July 6.

Maragh slammed more fancied rivals to capture the fifth race aboard the 15-1 upset winner Straight Romance.

The five-year-old gelding pressed the pace in the 5-1/2 furlong sprint on turf and grabbed a narrow lead - four wide - inside the last furlong before repelling a strong late challenge from top jockey Dominguez and the 3-1 bet Prince Woodman.

Straight Romance held on to win by half-length in one minute 03.56 seconds as Maragh continued his fine season.

Maragh has 166 victories so far this year, including 17 stakes triumphs. In mounts' earnings, he is among the Top-10 jockeys in North America's 2009 campaign with approximately US$7.2 million.
