As a testimony to their undying love for each other, Trena Christie and Marcel Williams invited family and friends to witness a public demonstration of their commitment, as they sealed the deal as husband and wife.

Glowing beautifully in her white, strapless dress, Christie walked down the aisle to meet the man of her dreams on July 5 at the Meadowbrook Seventh-day Adventist Church. Strolling to 'Here Comes the Bride', her groom eagerly awaited her at the other end.

Walk to the altar

Meeting her, he delicately took her hand and led her to the altar where they joined the rest of the bridal party. Both groom and bride listened attentively to Pastor Devon Osbourne who provided sound marital advice before they became officially wed. With the message firmly delivered, the moment finally arrived for the two to exchange vows and rings. It was jubilation in the church after the pastor declared them husband and wife, as guests applauded and cheered the newly-weds.

To continue the celebration, guests converged at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel for the reception. Held in the Talk of the Town suite, decorators utilised the wedding colours, brown and beige, throughout the room.

Emotional aspect

At the centre of attention, the couple was showered with love, and wishes of good fortune. But the highlight and most emotional aspect of the night was the groom's reply.

Professing his love for his bride, he expressed confidence that he had made the right choice and declared how much he anticipated the future with her. His other lady love was not to be left out of the picture though. Sonia Lewis, mother of the groom, was honoured by her son who had high praises for her and used the opportunity to share some of the positive characteristics he admired in her. During this highly emotional moment his mother and other members of the audience were moved to tears.

Following all the formalities, it was continued laughter and mingling before the newly-weds were sent off to begin their new life as husband and wife.
