Sixty pounds gone

Kirton lost 60 pounds in six months.

Thirty-one-year-old Ayanna Kirton, brand manager at Pepsi-Cola Jamaica, makes loosing baby fat look easy.

When she became pregnant last year, she gained a whopping 60 pounds. But, after giving birth to her son, she lost all that weight in six months.

Kirton explained that before she was pregnant she exercised regularly. "I went to the gym at least four times per week. But, when I got pregnant, the long working hours plus the fatigue made exercise near impossible."

Kirton continued working out at home when she felt guilt. She told Flair that she has promised herself that if she becomes pregnant again she would be more vigilant in maintaining an exercise routine, particularly with her abs because the 'belly' is the most difficult thing to lose.

Diet

Kirton confessed that dieting is not really high on her list of things to do. "I can't do it. It's impossible for me to give up good food," she said.

However, she noted that during her pregnancy she could not eat meat because it made her sick. But that was the only aversion she had. "Everything else was consumed ... in abundance."

Since giving birth she has not had time to really hit the gym as regularly as she normally would, but she has managed to regain her pre-baby figure. She explained that she no longer eats poultry, beef or pork so maybe that has helped with keeping the weight off. She added that being constantly on the go and taking care of a little boy is hard work so that may be helping to keep the weight off.
