With only seven races on Wednesday, the Pick-9 resumes at Caymanas Park tomorrow with the guaranteed minimum of $1 million.

The Super-6, which was caught on Wednesday, also starts anew with $750,000 in the kitty. It embraces races five to 10, while the Pick-9 will be conducted from race two to 10.

We look at the Super-6 which gets under way in the fifth race ($390,00-$340,000 claiming) over 1500 metres, to be contested by nine starters, including top contenders ISLA, SPANISH TOWN and CHIPONYOURSHOULDER. The latter steps down in class after finishing a close fourth to SPECIAL CAT over 1820 metres on February 25, and with the trip more to his liking, could supplement his December 3 winning run over 1400 metres.

Another brave bid

SPANISH TOWN, who also won over 1400 metres on January 1, failed by three-quarter length to catch SATISFIER over this trip on a $365,000 tag and was immediately claimed by trainer Patrick Lynch. The American colt has been a model of consistency, and with in-form Paul 'Country' Francis in the saddle, should make another brave bid.

Despite the sound claims of SPANISH TOWN and CHIPON-YOURSHOULDER, the one I like best is ISLA, who steps down from overnight allowance company after finishing 9 3/4 lengths sixth to Guineas favourite BRUCEON-THELOOSE in the fast-run Ash Wednesday Trophy over 1300 metres on February 25. Prior to that she finished a close third to GUIDING LIGHT over 1400 metres, and with champion jockey Omar Walker taking the ride, the hint should be taken.

Next on the programme is the CTL Stable Riders' Race over 800 metres straight for conditional $180,000 claimers. Most of the 12 horses will be ridden by current Jockeys' School trainees.

The horses expected to fight it out are MOST WANTED, TUTOR, FLYING FIRETAIL, KAZ HO ME and GOINGTOKANSASCITY. It will more than likely come down to MOST WANTED and TUTOR, both of whom are specialists over the course.

MOST WANTED won a similar type of race on November 22 last year, and with connections going back for the winning jockey Douglas Gordon (a Jockeys' School trainee), the eight-year-old horse is preferred to TUTOR.

Briefly, RED LION, who last won over 1400 metres on February 18, should rebound in the seventh race over 1200 metres ahead of JET BLASTER and recent winner FELICIDAD, all fit horses.

NATURALLY ROYAL

Consistent NATURALLY ROYAL (Walker up) gets the nod over FIRST TIME LUCKY (working well) and AGUILA in the eighth race over the straight for the George HoSang Trophy (overnight allowance), while it should be JAMMING (second to MAKING OUT recently) and SERGEANT STONEHAN (working well) in the last two races.
