LETTER OF THE DAY - Church leaders and finances
The Editor, Sir: I have been following with some interest the views expressed by some of church leaders on the issue of accountability and transparency in dealing with the finances of churches.
Good service from RGD
The Editor, Sir: I must take this opportunity to commend Dr Patricia Holness on the tremendous and excellent work she and her staff have been doing since taking the reins of the Registrar General's Department (RGD) as chief executive officer.
The pain of child abuse
The Editor, Sir: What excruciating pain that dear little soul must bear! CVM TV has showed the second part of a story regarding the brutal abuse of an infant. An appeal has also been made for persons to call the relevant authorities with information regarding child abuse.
Cycle of waste, corruption
The Editor, Sir: Being an accounting student, I was watching with a sense of pride the attempt to eradicate the wanton waste and corruption plaguing the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC). I thought for sure that all would see that avoiding losses of $30 million a month would be the best for everyone.
Noteworthy
I am not in support of the young man who states that the deaf should not obtain a driver's licence.
