A mouth-watering encounter is expected when joint leaders Rae Town and Santos clash in today's feature game of the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Claro Super League at Breezy Castle, starting at 3 p.m.

Both teams enter the 11th round of matches on 22 points with Rae Town boasting a superior goal difference. Rae Town are the only unbeaten team in the league, having secured six victories and four draws, while Santos have registered seven wins, one draw and two losses.

In addition to sharing the lead, the teams also have the joint leading goal-scorers in Damion Jackson of Rae Town and Fabian Nethersole of Santos, who have scored eight goals apiece.

secured wins

Both teams secured wins in their latest league outings; Rae Town getting by Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) 2-0, thanks to a brace from Orlando Walters, and Santos blanking Constant Spring 3-0, with Nethersole netting twice and Demetrio Billett supplying the other.

Santos, however, are still smarting from their elimination from the Claro Jackie Bell Confederation KO competition, after being clipped 0-1 at home by Major League outfit Greenwich Town.

Michael Francis, coach of Rae Town, will be absent from today's game as he will be off the island for two weeks. But he is hoping his team will stick to the game plan.

"I had a look at them (Santos) against the Greenwich team and I see that they have some quality players and I have to just make sure my team sticks to the game plan," Francis said. "I know the Santos team and I am expecting a good game," he added.

Assistant coach Everald Campbell will deputise in Francis' absence.

Carlton Dennis, the coach of Santos, believes his team will be self-motivated after their Jackie Bell KO loss.

"The team will be self-motivated. We're playing Rae Town, one of the top teams in the league and if you check the records the Constant Springs, the Cavaliers who are the top teams, these are the teams that we played well against," Dennis said.

"Santos will turn up tomorrow (today) to play and it will be a very competitive game," he added.

The round's other games will see third-place Cavalier (21 points) hosting seventh-place Barbican (15) at the Spring Complex. The other Spring Complex-based team, fourth-place Constant Spring (17) will look to rebound from their first defeat of the season when they entertain bottom-place Maverley/Hughenden (three).

Sixth-place Mountain View (15) will seek to leapfrog fifth-place Jamaica Defence Force (16) when they welcome them to the Excelsior High School ground. The Maverley Field will be the venue for the encounter between eighth-place Real Mona (10) and second-from-bottom Meadhaven United (five). The final match of the round will see ninth-place Bull Bay (9 points) on the road to 10th-place Duhaney Park (6 points).
