When people hear the name Fiction Lounge, the popular nightclub in St Andrew comes to mind. But there is more to this spot which is situated in the Market Place along Constant Spring Road. And during the Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week, patrons will get to experience it all.

During the week, Fiction Lounge will double as a restaurant, where patrons can get twice the pleasure.

According to manager, Kevin Bourke, the menu will be prepared by chefs, Sara Mair and the atmosphere at the restaurant will be casual but with a flair. "We want it to reproduce a European lounge vibe with a little Spanish infusion, featuring a bongo drum player. Persons will be able to just chill out and enjoy the choices of food we have to offer," he says.

Seating will start from 8 p.m. and will go up until 10:30 p.m. to accommodate the last set of diners. Following this, the lounge will be transformed into a club atmosphere. The space will be cleared and the music is turned up with disc jocks in control, allowing diners to soak up the club experience. "This is how we started out, just like many lounges in metropolitan areas like in New York where people go to a lounge have dinner and then when it's club time the place is cleared and the music is turned up."

Bourke says plans are being made to offer special arrangements at the club to persons who dine at other restaurants in Market Place during Restaurant Week. This is to facilitate persons who go to the club as the after-dinner spot to party.
