We know Asafa Powell, Brigitte Foster-Hylton and Shelly-Ann Fraser pound the track, but could they select the 'track' to get the crowd going?

That's what people flocked to National Commercial Bank's Rock The Track event on the night of Thursday, October 22 to see. After their golden performances in Berlin, Powell, Foster-Hylton and Fraser got the chance to do 'run the track' in a musical fashion. The actual 'spinning' was done by the house DJ at Pure/Plush, but it was from select playlists from the three athletes. Of course, they all got the paparazzi treatment.

big hits

Early guests were treated to techno versions of some current big hits, to keep the tempo lively. There was also plenty of reggae and rocksteady for guests to enjoy including Etana's I Am Not Afraid to Beres Hammond's Feel Good. Among the tracks that the gathering told the DJ to 'pull up' were Call On Me and Walk Away From Love. Group Managing Director of NCB Patrick Hylton, was in a dancing mood, dropping foot as if he were 16. Meanwhile, a few of Foster-Hylton's tracks, including Tony Rebel's If Jah and L.U.S.T.'s version of Just As I Am, got the best responses.

Guests out included Dennis Cohen, Bernadette Barrow, Audrey Tugwell-Henry, Chris Williams, Belinda Williams, Samantha Chantrelle, Charmaine Wright, Bridgette Rhoden, Vernon and Prudence James, Dominique Davis, Misha Haye, Dania Bogle and Bruce James.
