Ianique Jean-Louie makes it her duty to eat healthy and in recent times she started to spread that commitment to others through her variety of health muffins.

The Spanish Town resident and mother of one said that her current occupation was born out of necessity.

''I needed to help and earn a living after the birth of my child and I started to produce various types of muffins. It has being growing steadily since,'' Jean-Louie said.

Flavour varieties

Apple, banana, chocolate, coconut, guava, mango and cinnamon muffins are among the popular varieties that are available. These products are gaining popularity with customers in Spanish Town, so much so, she wants to expand to elsewhere.

"Persons need to eat healthy and although it may cost a bit more, they will find ways to satisfy their nutritional needs. Healthy muffins are where I come in," Jean-Louie said.

She told The Gleaner that she used flax seed and coconut oil, instead of dairy products or eggs in most of her creations. These ingredients help to enhance the true vegetable taste of the muffins.

Jean-Louie, being a vegetarian, is of the view that what prevents some persons from eating healthy is that they like sugar, too much of which is not good for the body.

She told The Gleaner she intended to stay in the business of providing healthy alternatives for customers while earning an honest living from her efforts.
