Mountain View, Spring set for thriller
Published: Saturday | October 24, 2009

A thrilling encounter is expected when Mountain View meet Constant Spring in today's feature game in the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Claro Super League, at the Excelsior High School playing field. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
Both teams will enter the game on seven points - in a four-way tie atop the standings with Rae Town and Santos.
Mountain View, however, sit second on goal difference and Constant Spring fourth. Mountain View are coming off a 1-0 win against bottom-of-the-table Meadhaven, while Constant Spring will be involved in their second straight top-of-the-table clash after playing to a 1-1 draw with Rae Town last weekend.
Constant Spring's coach, Jerome Waite, believes poor finishing let down his team in their last game and will be looking to correct that.
"Based on our last game performance, what we didn't do was convert our chances, so I expect the team to improve that," Waite said.
"Once we are working together we shouldn't have much problems. The main thing is to collect as many maximum points as possible and once we do that the other teams will always be chasing," he added of their overall objective.
Omar Stanley, coach of Mountain View, said his team also needs to score its chances.
"Last game we scored early and then squandered a lot of chances. We will be looking to score goals," Stanley said. "It is a home game so we want to win our home game. I have asked my team to improve in every game they play."
captain returns
Mountain View will be boosted by the return of their captain, Jahmiah Pettigrew, who served a one-match suspension.
