Buoyed by this season's portion of a four-year Claro sponsorship deal worth approximately $25m, president of the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA), Rudolph Speid, is looking forward to another exciting season.

"There is no doubt that the KSAFA clubs continue to benefit and improve from the input of our sponsors," Speid said at an awards ceremony, which celebrated the achievements of the KSAFA teams at the Knutsford Court Hotel on Tuesday night.

"Last season was an exciting one and this season promises to be even better," he added.

Having won last season's Super League competition, August Town were presented with the league trophy and a $200,000 cash prize, with the Most Valuable Player Award going to their top marksman, Nicholas McCreath.

Despite being runners-up, Cavalier also figured prominently at the awards dinner, as in addition to the second-place trophy and $150,000, they were also presented with the Claro Fair Play Award. The team's top scorer Locksley Thompson, who netted 19 times, was also the league's leading goalscorer.

Conspicuously absent

Waterhouse, whose coach Geoffrey Maxwell was conspicuously absent, saw forward Jermaine Anderson receive both the Most Valuble Player and leading goalscorer award for the Champions League.

Premier League champions Tivoli Gardens, who were narrowly beaten in the final, received the runner-up trophy and $150,000.

Rae Town were the toast of the Major League and having emerged runaway winners, were rewarded for their troubles with $100,000 in addition to the trophy.

Runners-up Barbican, who were promoted to the Super League along with Rae Town, received $70,000.

Brown's Town received the Major League Fair Play Award and Port Royal's Damion Jackson was the league's top scorer with 14 goals.

Having been crowned Syd Barlett champions, Greenwich Town received $80,000, while runners-up UWI walked away with $50,000.

However, it was Whitfield Town's Ricardo Munroe who stole the show, capturing both the leading scorer award, with 13 goals, and the league's MVP title.

The KSAFA Super League will kick off on Saturday.
