Offering myself

The Editor, Sir:

As a Jamaican living in the United States, I love Jamaica and will do anything in my powers, or sphere of influence, to help and assist in the development of my beloved country.

One of the things I dislike is to read in the newspapers, via letters and columns, of other Jamaicans living in other countries and offering advice on how things should be done in Jamaica. I'd rather go back there and offer myself, talent and energy to do the things I see that need to be done.

I don't believe in staying from afar and offering my advice. If one wants to help they need to get their hands dirty as well. However, I suppose they won't, as life is a bit too comfortable and easy where they now live and might be a bit too hard in Jamaica to make that kind of effort.

I am, etc.,
