The value of the free press

The Editor, Sir:
I would like to thank you most sincerely for printing my letter to the National Works Agency (NWA) in Monday's Gleaner. It brought immediate results.
A representative from the NWA called and advised that he would be sending someone immediately to fill the pothole in front of my house. This pothole has now been filled and I am now no longer in fear of having a bus plunging into my house.
This certainly shows the value of a free press. Again, my thanks.
