Cavalier have maintained their lead atop the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA)/Claro Super League competition despite playing to 0-0 draw with Constant Spring at Winchester Park yesterday.

Cavalier are now on 13 points one ahead of Rae Town and Constant Spring, who are tied for second-place with 12 points each.

In the day's other games, Rae Town were held to a 1-1 draw by Duhaney Park (5) at Baldwin Crescent. Orlando Barrett scored for Duhaney Park in the 44th minute. Damian Jackson levelled the score for Rae Town in the 80th minute.

JDF in fourth place

The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF), (11) moved into fourth-place with a 1-0 win over Santos at Up Park Camp. Garvey Simms scored the lone goal for the Army Men in the 45th minute. Fifth-place Mountain View (10) and Real Mona (5) played to a 2-2 draw. Bull Bay defeated Maverley/Hughenden 2-0 and Barbican beat Meadhaven United 2-0.

At Winchester Park, the first half was evenly contested with both teams missing clear-cut chances. Loxsley Thompson and Marvin Stewart missed for Cavalier. While Chezray Twyne and Narado Prawl squandered easy chances for Constant Spring.

Jerome Waite, coach of Constant Spring, said he was pleased with his team's performance.

"I think that we have done well statistically because playing a 1 p.m. game away from home you can classify this result as being good," said Waite.

"I believe we played in patches because we played a Jackie Bell game two days ago and it went into extra time and you could see that it took toll on us today."

Meanwhile, Lamar Morgan, assistant coach of Cavalier, said: "I think that both teams played well, but it's just unfortunate that we didn't score any goals because we created a lot of clear cut chances and we failed to put them away."
