MILAN (AP):

David Beckham's return to AC Milan on loan from the Los Angeles Galaxy in January is nearly "100 per cent" certain, says the Serie A club's CEO Adriano Galliani.

Beckham has long been linked with a second loan spell at Milan after performing well in a six-month stay with the Serie A side last season.

"A great player will arrive, his first name is David, his last name Beckham," Galliani was quoted as saying by the ANSA news agency yesterday. Galliani made the remarks to Sky Italia.

"It is practically 100 per cent certain, what's missing is the signatures, but there is total agreement," Galliani added.

Beckham, who wants to return to Europe to maintain his place in England's 2010 World Cup squad, has helped the Galaxy reach the eight-team MLS play-offs for the first time in four years.

Now led by former US national team coach Bruce Arena, the Galaxy won their sixth Western Conference title. They also captured MLS Cup championships in 2002 and 2005.
