Two goals in the last five minutes carried St Andrew Technical High School (STATHS) to an exciting 3-2 win over Camperdown High in Pepsi/Digicel Manning Cup action yesterday.

In the Group D top-of-the-table clash at Bumper Hall, STATHS, despite dominating the contest, found themselves behind twice, in the 38th and 72nd minutes of play, but rallied to take maximum points. They are now on 16 points.

Camperdown took the lead when Ramone Waite, a member of his school's 4x100m relay team, scored from a goalmouth melee.

Waite's effort was cancelled out in the 47th minute when Jermaine Reid netted for STATHS with a glancing header.

Ricardo Oldham, in the 72nd minute, handed Camperdown what many thought was the game's winner when he slammed home a free kick from the edge of the 18-yard box to beat the goalkeeper to his left.

However, Camperdown, with 18 minutes to go in the contest, went on the defence with all but Waite behind the ball, but a determined STATHS made them pay in the dying moments.

Dujan Hilton put STATHS back on level terms, 2-2, when he fired home following a right-sided corner in the 85th minute. The biggest celebration came when Andrew Christie notched the winner, thanks to a mistake by Camperdown's goalkeeper Marlon Brown, who left his line and failed to collect the ball.

In the group's other game, Wolmer's thrashed Meadowbrook 9-0 to take over second place, moving to 13 points, one more than Camperdown on 12.

In Group A, Waterford beat Edith Dalton-James 2-1 to maintain their lead over Jamaica College (JC), who were leading Pembroke Hall 7-0 when the referee blew off the game at half-time. The officials said the lines on the field could not be seen clearly.

Donald Quarrie beat Penwood 2-1.

In Group E, Tivoli beat St Catherine 5-1 while Bridgeport's game against Holy Trinity was not played.
