Gayle to captain Jamaica

The Jamaica Cricket Association yesterday confirmed that big-hitting opener, Christopher Gayle, will captain the national team in the West Indies Cricket Board one-day tournament.

The announcement was made through a press release, which also confirmed former youth player, Zeniffe Fowler, as the only newcomer in an 18-man squad, which will be further reduced to 14 for the tournament that will start later this month in Guyana.

SQUAD: Chris Gayle, Nikita Miller, David Bernard, Jr, Zeniffe Fowler, a former national under-15 and under-19 representative, Wavell Hinds, Carlton Baugh Jr, Shawn Findlay, Brendan Nash, Odean Brown, Danza Hyatt, Tamar Lambert, Jerome Taylor, Jason Dawes, Daren Powell, Krishmar Santokie, Andrew Richardson, Xavier Marshall and Brenton Parchment.
