The ultimate all-white Virgo party

Published: Sunday | September 27, 2009

Harold Brady and Cindy Breakspeare-Bent can't resist the music either.

Last Sunday it was a gathering of close friends born under the sign of Virgo, at the poolside of the beautiful residence of Jennifer Lim. Lim and Gleaner social scribe Chester Francis Jackson ably hosted the event that saw everyone sticking to the prescribed dress code. White is so perfect for this climate.

Many preferred to stay close to the Absolut-ly delicious Vodka martinis shaken to perfection by the competent and attentive bartenders. The bar supplied by Wray and Nephew was definitely the spot to be, but some of the party hearty also enjoyed the other cocktails available.

We cannot say enough about the music; Richard Clarke kept everyone dancing to the popular oldies.

Coordinating chef Betty Delfosse-Ingleton made sure there was something for everyone on the lavish menu. Offerings included rosemary chicken with Portobello mushrooms and port sauce, roasted suckling pig, curried leg of mutton, Basmati rice with lentil done in créme of coconut, nan, island garden greens served on toasted pitta bread, fresh garden fruits, chocolate cake by Eating Art and fruit cake from Patta Cake.
