Go west with horse racing

The Editor, Sir:
One would think that by now the Government would have allowed casino gambling in Jamaica. It would bring in much-needed capital and, better yet, make work for our people in these hard times.
Numerous benefits
Another source of employment, revenue and increased tourism would be to allow horse racing in western Jamaica. Think of the benefits and profiling for our poor country.
Horse racing would ease the pressure on Caymanas Park with racing two days weekly, alternate to the days at Caymanas Park.
Surely, the Government has thought about this so what or who are they afraid of?
