Spaldings High celebrates CSEC success

SPALDINGS, Clarendon:
Administrators at Spaldings High School are basking in their students' creditable achievements in the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations.
During an address at the school's graduation ceremony last Tuesday, acting principal Dawn Chambers praised the students for notching success in a number of subjects, recording 100 per cent passes in some areas.
Spaldings High achieved 100 per cent passes in subjects such as clothing and textile, physics, physical education, theatre arts, visual arts and home management.
More moderate achievements
Chambers said there were also high pass rates in social studies (96 per cent), food and nutrition (94 per cent), business studies (90 per cent) and human and social biology (85 per cent). Chemistry (67 per cent) and English language (53 per cent) presented less flattering rewards.
Alphansus Davis, Spaldings High's principal who is on secondment as senior adviser to the minister of education, said hewas proud of the graduates' performance.
While lauding the teaching staff for their efforts, Davis implored the graduates to continue to work even harder in order to accomplish their life goals.
