Former Health Minister John Junor has offered himself to be campaign manager for the new People's National Party (PNP) caretaker for South West St Ann businessman, Valenton Wint.

Wint, who has business interests in Clarendon and Manchester, is a political newcomer who recently succeeded Glenville Shaw as caretaker for the South West St Ann constituency.

Shaw ran on the PNP ticket in the last two general elections and lost to the Jamaica Labour Party's Ernest Smith.

His offer, made as he addressed the South East St Ann constituency conference Sunday night at the Ferncourt High School in Claremont, St Ann, was accepted by Wint, who promised party supporters to retake the South West St Ann constituency for the PNP in the next election.

Junor, who served as health minister during the Patterson administration, resigned from representational politics two years ago, after making known his non-support of PNP leader and former Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller.

Junor, a lawyer by profession, has since returned to his practice.
