World Championships and Olympics triple gold medallist, Usain Bolt, and 400m hurdles champion Melaine Walker, have received nominations for the top male and female performers at the 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics.

According to All-Athletics.com, a world renowned athletics database, Bolt and Walker collected the most points each for their victories in their respective events.

Bolt's two performances, running 9.58 and 19.19 seconds for victory in the 100 and 200 metres, as expected headed the list of the top 20 men. He got 1669 points for the 100m run and gathered 1657 for the 200m to finish in first position.

Jamaica's men's 4x100m quartet of Steve Mullings, Michael Frater, Bolt and Asafa Powell finished third with 1584 points. The team clocked a championship record 37.31.
