BRIDGEVIEW, Illinois (CMC):

Omar Cummings hit a brace and Dane Richards also made scoring headlines but the two Jamaicans endured contrasting results with their teams in US Major League Soccer (MLS) on Sunday.

Cummings was in despair after seeing the two-goal lead he had given Colorado Rapids erased by Chicago Fire, who went on to win 3-2 at Toyota Park.

Richards helped struggling New York Red Bulls battle past FC Dallas, also 3-2.

The Chicago Fire sensationally scored three goals in the last 18 minutes to topple visiting Colorado, who led 2-0 on early second-half goals by Cummings.

The Rapids went ahead on 48 minutes when Jamie Smith took a firm shot from 25 yards that Chicago's goalkeeper Jon Busch blocked.

Beautiful goal

The rebound fell favourably for Cummings, who confidently placed a shot into the right corner from 12 yards.

Cummings scored again in the 58th minute with a beauty. Picking up a pass at the top right corner of the box, the Jamaica international moved inside for room and cracked a ferocious left-footer into the upper right corner for his eighth goal of the year.

The influential Mexican international Cuauhtemoc Blanco pulled a goal back from the penalty spot, in the 72nd minute and Mike Banner tied the game in the 85th.

Dasan Robinson then got the winner in stoppage time, heading in a cross from Mike Banner to delight the home fans.
