St Andrew, led by a 53rd minute strike from Chevon Marsh, edged Kingston 1-0 in first leg semi-final of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) Under-15 Challenge Cup at the Bell Chung Oval yesterday.

In the other semi-final game, St Catherine and hosts Clarendon played to a 1-1 draw at Wembley Oval in Clarendon.

Lamar Morgan, coach of St Andrew was satisfied with his team's efforts.

"I am very pleased with the performance my team gave today, because we were able to get a crucial goal and I think that gives us the advantage going into the second leg," he said.

"I think that we played in patches, but they are young boys and are not going to get it right at all times, we just have to stick to our same game plan for next game," Morgan added.

Meanwhile Marcel Gayle coach of Kingston said:

"I think that our players were a bit lacklustre because we were not prepared well enough for this game."

"However, I think that they showed guts and character but unfortunately we came out on the losing side," said Gayle.

"I think we will come a lot better in the second leg because I know what we will have to do to win that game."
