Single and happy

It's great for women to keep in touch and that's exactly what Flair has made possible every Wednesday and Friday when we blogwithflair at www.gleanerblogs.com. Let's talk about things we can't print in the paper.
Single and happy
I do think that someone can be single and happy, it all depends on what it takes to make an individual feel fulfilled in every way, married or single.

Being single carries 100 per cent freedom and no one will ever back away from freedom. However, a time will come in their lives when they will want to experience that feeling of belonging and being cared for and by someone. A complete balance is required between being yourself (single phase) and appreciating/ recognising the love and affection for/by someone else. There is no happier state - whether single or married, it's what you make of it.

What went wrong
Very thought-provoking post. I can understand the disappointment that you feel when you see your friends' marriages not work out. I also have had friends whose marriages I thought were on rock-solid ground break up. I've just learnt to accept it when it does happen and offer them moral support where possible.

Is marriage obsolete?
The secret to a successful marriage is communication, respect, trust and faith, and not necessarily in that order ... lol. Affairs and various moral indiscretions are signs of the times but that does not mean that the marriage is over. Marriage is like a job, you have to work at it. Quitting is easy and quitters never win.
