There were also motivational sessions from the various sectors of society including the police.

A special feature this year was a component involving Special Olympics, including 40 students with learning disabilities.

These workshops were headed by INSPORTS national coaches, including Robert Samuels, former Jamaica and West Indies batsman; Junior Bennett, national cricket coach; Bert Cameron, Olympian; Sylvester Campbell, international netball umpire and Calvin Martin, former national basketball coach.

This year's camp was a tremendous success as each child was exposed to the rudiments of a sport, as well as life-changing skills that sought to make them better individuals in society.

Big four clash in semis

The big four in the Milo-sponsored Portmore Under-15 Cricket League will play tomorrow in the semi-finals at two venues in Portmore. Both matches start at 11 a.m.

In one semi-final, at the Ken's Wildflower sports ground, Ken's Wildflower, last year's beaten finalist will put their 100 per cent win record on the line when they take on fourth-seed Hamilton Gardens, while at Waterford High School ground, defending champions Colours International clash with arch-rivals Portsmouth.

Ken's Wildflower have won six straight games but still need to concentrate against Hamilton Gardens, a team they defeated by six wickets in the preliminaries, but the game was a lot closer than the end result.

In the other semi-final, Colours versus Portsmouth, it could go either way as the teams are evenly matched. Portsmouth may have a psychological edge since they beat Colours by 21 runs in the final preliminary-round game on Wednesday. The final is scheduled for next Sunday, August 7.
