Where were Gov't, JTB

The Editor, Sir:

Following the unbalanced reporting on Jamaica by Trevor McDonald and ITV, one has to ask where were the Government and the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) when the programme was being made.

It is a shame the way governments over the years have treated its people. We have to leave the country of our birth and travel thousands of miles for security and respectability. Trinidad is nearer to Colombia, yet the drug dealers bypass them and come to Jamaica. Why?

Our country has leaky borders and chatty-chatty, no-action politicians. This is another example of our country being exposed to foreigners.

I am, etc.,
