A real contender
National champion Isa Phillips has been knocking at the door for the past two years and this season has emerged as a real gold medal prospect in the men's 400 metres hurdles.
The former St Andrew Technical High and Louisiana State University student is the second fastest in the world this year over the one-lap hurdles event. His 48.05 seconds is just behind the 48.03 of American Bershawn Jackson, the 2005 World champion.
