MY DOWNTIME WITH … MIA MOTTLEY

Published: Sunday | June 28, 2009

Mottley: (I listen to) different artistes, depending on the time of day and whether it's in my car, on my iPod or at home. I am enjoying a little Tarrus Riley, Luciano, Arturo Tappin and Ella Fitzgerald.

Barbadian Opposition leader and guest speaker at the recently held First Global Vision Award dinner, held at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel in St Andrew.

With a busy local and international schedule of political duties, speaking engagements and conferences, Mottley still carves out some personal time. She is a voracious reader and it's not unusual to find her deeply engrossed in up to four books at a time.

Outlook caught up with the brilliant politician just minutes before she delivered the keynote address at the Vision Awards dinner.

What book are you reading now?

I am reading more than one actually: Reimaging India's Economy by John Adams, False Economy: A Surprising Economic History of the World by Alan Beatte and Heal the World by Felix Koikara.

Whose music are you listening to now?

Different artistes, depending on the time of day and whether it's in my car, on my iPod or at home. I am enjoying a little Tarrus Riley, Luciano, Arturo Tappin and Ella Fitzgerald.
