T&T top meet

Trinidad and Tobago surged to six final day victories and recaptured the Carifta Swimming Championship title with a resounding four-day performance at the at the Roly Bisslik Olympic Pool on Sunday.
In securing a medal haul of 31 gold, 14 silver and 22 bronze, T&T gathered 815.50 points to win easily ahead of The Bahamas (691.50) while landing their first championship win at the meet in five years. Guadeloupe (603) trailed T&T and The Bahamas to finish third, followed by Martinique (578.50), Jamaica (571.50), Aruba (482) and Suriname (469) with Barbados eighth on 312 points.
Gold medal
T&T's stand-out swimmer Dylan Carter copped his seventh gold medal of the meet when he landed the 11-12 boys' 50-metre freestyle in 26.00, topping Aruba's Jordy Groters (26.16).
T&T also closed out the meet with a pair of relay wins.
Former team champions Jamaica and Barbados combined for five wins on the final day.
