Ken McLachlan passes on

McLachlan
Ken McLachlan, a former tote supervisor at Caymanas Park for many years up to 2001, died on Thursday, March 5, at the University Hospital after a long illness. He was 78.
Although well known in racing circles as he was always present at the track on racedays, McLachlan was even better known in sporting circles, specifically in the field of table tennis.

He was a former president of the Jamaica Table Tennis Association in the '90s and before that served as general secretary for many years, touring with numerous national teams in various capacities.
Above all, McLachlan represented Jamaica at table tennis. He was also well known in football circles as well, having played Division I football for YMCA in the 1950s and '60s.
'Uncle Ken', as he was popularly called, is survived by wife Marilyn, four children, other relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly.
