Roy Simpson, manager of the Jamaica's Under-20 footballers, said he was confident the Young Reggae Boyz can rebound from their opening loss to the United States and beat El Salvador in their second match of the CONCACAF Under-20 Championships today at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, starting at 4 p.m.

The Americans and Honduras will meet in the second match of the day, starting at 6 p.m.

Jamaica's Young Boyz were beaten 3-0 by the Americans in their opening game on Friday. They must win or at least draw today to have any chance of advancing to the Under-20 World Cup later this year.

"We need our key players to show up in this game for us and play well for us, and I believe that once they do this for us, then we should be able to beat the El Salvadorians," said Simpson.

Simpson added that the coaching staff had psychological sessions with the players after the defeat, they have responded well to it and they are ready and raring to go now.

All out

"This is a do-or-die game for us and so we have to make sure that we go all out tomorrow (today) and the players are ready to do everything that is possible to win the match," said Simpson.

Peri Marosevic (8th), Dilly Duka (78th) and Billy Schuler (83rd) were the goalscorers for the USA, who are bidding for a seventh straight appearance in an Under-20 World Cup.

Meanwhile, the El Salvadorians were held to an exciting 2-2 come-from-behind draw by Honduras in their opening game.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals and earn a berth in the U-20 World Cup in Egypt, September 24-October 16.
