Jamaica Chamber of Commerce's (JCC) company awards next month

Local companies that have been performing at an exceptional level are to be celebrated next month during the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce's (JCC) annual dinner and awards ceremony.

The ceremony will be held on March 12 at the Hilton Kingston hotel in New Kingston.

Categories

The awards cover several categories of a company's operations, including leadership, culture and the achievement of corporate objectives, and they also recognise best practices that attract, optimise and hold top talent.

"We want to inject something new and different from the usual predictable event that will create a unique experience that will 'WOW' members and other guests," said chairman of the JCC 2009 Awards Committee, Glen Christian. "To delight, entertain and entice prospective members, we want to bring that kind of freshness to the event so that non-members can see the benefit of being a member of the chamber."

For this year's staging, new talents have been introduced into the committee who possess marketing finesse and ideas. The awards category and criteria have also been revised and the collection and analysis of the data of each company is being undertaken by an independent, trained researcher.

Subsequently, a panel of esteemed judges will make the final decision based on the findings.

Award categories

With a very strict, clear-cut set of criteria, the specific categories are:

Best of Chamber Awards (Small, Medium & Large)

Environmental Awareness Award

Individual Community Services Award

Praetorian Award

Best Parish Chamber
