LETTER OF THE DAY - Reminder to PM on food crisis action
The Editor Sir, This is my response to a news item of June 4, headlined, 'PM blasts G8 on food crisis'. According to the news item, Prime Minister Bruce Golding addressed JLP supporters on Sunday...

Famous fountain fuels fuss

The Editor, Sir: It has never failed to amaze how disjointed the vision and focus of our leaders can be.

Prodding youth against crime

The Editor Sir, I watched an interview with youth advocate Lawman Lynch on CVM TV's Direct on Wednesday. It has rejuvenated my interest in helping to change Jamaica's current situation.

The people want 'justice'

The Editor Sir, There are many reasons for an upsurge in crime: the breakdown of family, lack of social services, lack of employment, poor education, garrisons, and the list goes on.

Sign of the times- At Dovecot: 15 hearses in 20 minutes

Dear Mr Gleaner, I am writing you about the pressing issue of crime and violence in our beautiful island of Jamaica. One day recently my 13-year-old brother came home from school.

Witness safety

Witnesses need to be able to give evidence without being intimidated by the accused. I'm all in favour of video evidence and for more closed-circuit TV cameras to be placed locally in areas where people feel that they may compromise their family safety if they become witness to a crime.
