Parchment ... to lead a young Jamaica team against Australia this week.

WEST INDIES representative Brenton Parchment has been chosen to lead Jamaica in a three-day practice match against Australia later this week.

Parchment, who represented the West Indies on tour of southern Africa, will lead an inexperienced Jamaica team which has only three players with Test match experience.

Former West Indies Under-19 captain Parchment, Carlton Baugh and Xavier Marshall are the Test players for the fixture which will open the world champions tour at the Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium from Friday to Sunday.

First-class experience

Lorenzo Ingram, Andre Dwyer, Andre Russell, Shawn Findlay, Nikita Miller, who just ended the Carib Beer Series with most wickets - 42, along with Simon Jackson and Gavin Wallace, who both played for the Combined Colleges and Campuses, are the players with first-class experience in the squad.

Full squad: Brenton Parchment (captain), Xavier Marshall, Simon Jackson, Shawn Findlay, Lorenzo Ingram, Carlton Baugh Jr, Donovan Sinclair, Shacoya Thomas, Nikita Miller, André Dwyer, Gavin Wallace, André Russell and Neive McNally.

Chadwick Walton, Dennis Bulli, Dwight Stewart and West Indies Under-19 player Nkrumah Bonner are the reserves.

The squad will start training on Tuesday.
