Last Sunday's NCB Capital Markets High Goal Polo Challenge was the perfect afternoon out for polo enthusiasts and for those who just wanted a day out. Adults and a few children turned up at the Kingston Polo Club mostly after the 10 a.m. start time.

While recognising that time was moving faster than how the patrons were strolling in, the matches got started about 45 minutes later than planned, but before long the crowd grew.

Even though it was a sporting event, the focus was not all on polo as pieces of art, including ceramics and paintings, were on display, and artists on hand to do portraits for those who were patient enough to sit still. For the children and perhaps the child at heart, body paint artist duo, Eon and Robby, were a big hit.

Euro Star and Go West both served up a treat, whetting the appetites of both motor vehicle and fashion fanatics.

During a match break, Euro Star showcased the latest models of Mercedes-Benz, tempting many to dig deep into their pockets to satisfy their urges. Go West entertained with a fashion show showcasing the trendiest pieces for females and males.

Other than the stands and tents set up for patrons to watch the matches, some opted to get cosy on sofas placed under trees for a bit of chit-chat.
