It was a scene of sari-wearing women, silks and magic carpets as guests turned out for Allied Insurance Brokers' (AIB) recent client party.

It was as if the staff wanted to bring one of the palatial residences from the sub-continent itself for the occasion. But the realistic décor more than sufficed.

This is the second year AIB has been hosting a theme party. Last year, it was a Chinese setting so, in sticking with the Asian vibe, this time, guests were promised an 'Escape To India'.

While the food was definitely of an Asian flavour (delectable dishes from Pushpa's restaurant to be exact), the music incorporated everything western; from soca to disco. This fusion of east and west, was the perfect combination for an enjoyable Friday evening.

Guests out included James Moss-Solomon, Glen Christian, Warren McDonald, Lois Lake-Sherwood, Tal Stokes, Billy Perkins, Trudy Kidd-Deans, Charmaine Anderson, Sushil Jain, Melody Cammock-Gayle, Corent McDonald and Joni Wedderburn.
