EDITORIAL - The politics of financial disclosure
We find interesting, and worthy of serious debate, Bruce Golding's suggestion that candidates for Parliament be required to disclose their incomes and assets as part of proposed party-finance reform.

Public Affairs - Jamaica's retreat from nationalism

The Farquharson Institute of Public Affairs is deeply concerned about the deteriorating sense of national pride and the evident admission by the country's leadership that we are increasingly unable to operate as a fully independent country. (Jones)

A shaggy-dog tale

The only thing I never understood about my late friend and colleague, Morris Cargill, was his love for his poodle Peanuts. When Peanuts started to write some of his columns, I thought he was daft. Homosexuality: a defining moral issue

Please offer me the opportunity through this venue to thank your veteran journalist, Ian Boyne, for his very informative and well-written article entitled 'Religion and Gay Rights', which appeared in the Sunday, March 18, issue of the Jamaica Gleaner online.
